To use these pages, click on the jpeg to get a full page. Work on one icon at a time.
Make some sentences using pronoun phrase plus icon (the one you are working on). Example would be I WANT TO COLOR. If your child can only handle one word, go ahead and model I WANT for them, and let them choose RAINBOW + TO VERB, to say TO COLOR. If you child is advanced into creating whole sentences, then let them do I + WANT + RAINBOW + TO VERB. If your child is writing in a word processing program, make sure they get the capitals, punctuation, and spacing correctly. Another example would be a Question like DO YOU WANT TO COLOR? Again, you know at what level to model, and to let them try to do it independently.
Your child now has the power to tell someone what they would like to do right now! Yesterday, if your device user tried to tell you they wanted to color, could you understand them?
Next session, work on another icon, or work on one several sessions, until they master the words independently.
